Safeguarding & eSafety

Back

Hassenbrook Academy fully recognises that our safeguarding responsibilities remain in place even though the school is operating in a different way to normal. We continue to have regard to the statutory safeguarding guidance, Keeping Children Safe in Education and are still following these key safeguarding principles:

• The best interests of children must come first

• If anyone has a safeguarding concern about any child, they should continue to act on it immediately

• A designated safeguarding lead (DSL) or deputy is available at all times

• Safeguarding measures are in place to ensure that unsuitable people don’t enter the school workforce or gain access to children

• Children should continue to be protected when they are online.

During term time, the school email account is regularly checked. If you have any concerns about the welfare of a student please email admin@hassenbrook.org.uk and your concerns will be passed to a Designated Safeguarding Lead.

If you’re worried about the welfare of any child or young person living in Thurrock, you can also contact the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) for advice and guidance: 9am to 4.30pm, Monday – Friday, except bank holidays: 01375 652 802Email: thurrockmash@thurrock.gov.uk. Outside of the above hours, the Emergency Duty Team (EDT) can be contacted on 01375 372 468.

If you are in any doubt as to the immediate safety of any child call 999.
