Friendship Afternoon on Wednesday 11th March
We were overwhelmed with the positive response and attendance at our first ever Friendship Afternoon on Wednesday 11th March when we invited prospective Year 7 students and their families to visit us for the first time following their offer letter.
The school was buzzing with activities as excited pupils took part in a range of activities in a wide range of subject areas, including drama, music, Spanish, basketball, blow painting in Art and Robotics in Science. Our student ambassadors organised the event and were busy getting to know their younger colleagues throughout the afternoon. Parents enjoyed speaking with staff and students and viewing an array of displays promoting the exciting student experience offer at Hassenbrook. Prospective parents and pupils learnt all about our unique Passport to Adventure project, the Combined Cadet Force, our Duke of Edinburgh scheme and a got a taste of some of our extra-curricular projects, including Robotics Club.
Everyone enjoyed the refreshments on offer and families left feeling reassured about the transition programme at Hassenbrook and the move from primary to secondary school. We look forward to welcoming all our families back in the summer term for a full programme of transition activities.
